Hammock campers are an interesting bunch. They are sort of like the MacGyvers of camping. Spend a little time on any hammock forum or group and you’ll learn that that these diehard outdoor enthusiasts are as creative as they are frugal. One of the best upgrades we’ve ever made was switching from a cooler to a 12V fridge. Moving food and beverage from the kitchen fridge to the you 12V without even thinking about ice is pretty amazing. And, even better, there’s no need to find ice on extended trips abroad or in the backcountry.
